“Just a really cool place. Parking was just fine for our vehicle. I would know that if you had a larger vehicle or a pull behind trailer parking would not be easy. Perfectly decorated; love the fire pit. saw a lovely sunset from the little landing in front of our room”

“The cabin was nicer in person. It was clean and decorated nicely. Lots of counter space. Loved the windows that allowed you to see the stars when in bed. Great location. Loved the firewood and fire pit/stove was with every cabin. Loved the extra hike and surprises opportunities were available, wish we had planned that in!”

“The place was clean and had *almost* everything we needed. I thought the fridge would have a small freezer for our ice packs. We wanted to be able to pack a cooler bag for the day but had no way to keep our ice packs frozen. I also would have liked some basic instructions for the washer/dryer unit. We would definitely stay here again but we would choose a unit not so close to the hwy.”

“We booked a suite not realizing that the suite do not come with the kitchen/stove area. They were easy to accommodate and get us upgraded to the cabin that would allow us to store and cook all the food we brought. They have a beautiful waterfall right behind the property that you can actually go right under! They have a giant hiking trail as well. It’s just enough out the city but not to far where my husband and I biked into town and explored as well. The personal fire pit out front made the cold night warm. Along with having centralized air and heating was amazing. Very clean inside, no issues with anything. They provided Kcups for coffee, bathroom soap essentials, and even a lighter to get your fire started. I loved the giant windows to view from but also that they had shades for privacy. Overall this cabin experience at explore made our trip to the U.P peacefully at home.”

“The house manual was super useful for both the cabin and the surrounding area. The firepit and washer/dryer were useful and def enhanced the comfort of our stay. Would stay again!”

“We booked two nights at Explorer Munising, and after reading some of the reviews, it made me a little worried of how our stay would end. But this place is absolutely AMAZING! THE LOCATION IS 10/10 the property is absolutely beautiful! To the people who say there isn’t instructions for check-in, they make the door access extremely easy, you don’t park across the street from the cabin. It’s literally 10 feet from your front door where you park. When people say it’s unsafe I’m assuming they’re new to visiting Michigan’s upper Peninsula, because no matter where you go it’s an adventure and there’s always a risk with that adventure! The kitchen inside of the cabins had everything you need for a stay. It has a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine and a combo washer/dryer. Theres a small couch, a chair table and a large counter space for food, anything. Noise from the road? NONE from inside the cabins - yes you hear it if you’re sitting outside but WHO CARES! The smokeless fire pits outside of the cabins are not too close, you just do not stuff them like you do in your backyard (the fire to end our night was honestly so relaxing and the sky almost looked fake) The cleaning fee is absolutely affordable and completely understanding, you’re not walking into a hotel you’re walking into your own private place. You treat him like you’re home. You take your trash out when you leave and you lock the door. Don’t be lazy, these places don’t last when you have negative reviews!”
